Olympic gold medallist Andy Murray will take on Australian Bernard Tomic for a place in the semi-finals of the ATP Cincinnati Masters.

Murray, who won Olympic gold for Great Britain in Rio on Sunday, beat Kevin Anderson 6-3 6-2 to win his 600th tour level match and set up the contest with Tomic.

Murray is on a streak of 20 consecutive games unbeaten, the longest winning streak of his career, which includes successes at Wimbledon and the Olympics.

The two have played each other four times, with Murray yet to drop a set against Tomic. However the Australian looks to be in good form and will provide a tough test for Murray, having saved five set points to beat fifth seed Kei Nishikori 7-6 7-6 in the previous round.

Murray has been managing a shoulder injury, which required treatment against Anderson, but will aim to continue his unbeaten run into the US Open at the end of August.
